If your 700a or 700N unit is configured to share a fax line with a fax machine, and both the fax and unit are answering on the same ring, place semicolon or comma characters (Depending on the situation, some experimentation may be requried) to delay the playback of the fax share tone. This may allow you to access your unit, at which point you can adjust the ring count accordingly.
