SQL port configuration
SQL port configuration
The Microsoft SQL Server Express software suite we utilize for NTL Studio databases will work as-is on most systems. However, in the unlikely event that you experience communications problems between an NTL Studio Client machine and the SQL Server (even if both reside on the same physical PC) you may need to open access to SQL's ports in order for the software to be able to access your customer data.
If you encounter problems, create firewall exceptions on your firewall software, whether it is Windows firewall or one included in your antivirus software suite for the following ports:
1433 TCP: SQL server communication
1434 UDP: SQL Browser service
If the above ports do not solve the issue, disable the firewall on the SQL Server machine.
